I am desperately in need of pants. I have a serious imbalance in my shirts-to-pants ratio, probably because I hate trying on pants—not fun for the hourglass-shaped girl! I think a trip to the SoHo Bloomies is in order this weekend.
I hate trying on pants too. I spent almost 2 hours in bloomingdale's last week and tried on 27 pairs of jeans. No joke! I've got witnesses! But if you can sneak out of work during the week, hit Macy's. I ventured in on my day off and found it quite tranquil for a change. Furthermore, I purchased a pair of killer jeans for $36, marked down from $175!
All I can say as an hour-glass shaped diva myself, is Banana Republic Martin fit pants. I have waited since puberty to find ONE store where I know I can walk in and buy a pair of pants. Just like any designer, there is the rare occasion where the Martin fit, don't fit, but when the pants are green and felty anyway, are you really going to be sad? The second best part of these pants is that as any B-Reps shopper knows, their clothes constantly go on sale, so you can almost always count on getting some delicious pants under $100. Two of my best pants purchases from there recently: ivory with tiny black stripes (very sexy!), and light pink seersucker (perfect for Spring!). Thank you to Banana Republic for helping a girl with some junk in her trunk look hot in pants!
