NYX Faux Lashes Boudoir Mascara rings in at only $6, and Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci has the deets on whether this one will give you the Rupaul lashes you crave. Here, her review.
I'm a big fan of "Rupaul's Drag Race", so my connection to NYX cosmetics comes from beautiful men performing as women. I was anxious to see how wearable their cosmetics could be, not all glitters and fluorescents. Starting off with Faux Lashes mascara, I was expecting real drama.
With a small straight brush, I dug in for coat one. The shape of the brush didn't pick up a whole lot of product, but the result was nice. The pigment is super soft, so my lashes were soft and fluffy with good separation. By the time I worked the second coat, the product had dried a little; I recommend applying coat two directly after coat one. Despite the slight dryness, I was able to get more pigment worked into the roots while the tips were tapered and clean.
While I wasn't able to do my afternoon touch-up (too brittle), this mascara is a really great day mascara: no clumps, no flakes, soft lashes. And even though I needed eye makeup remover at the end of the night, I'd definitely recommend this baby. Even Rupaul would approve.--Ashleigh Ciucci
