PERFECT for St. Pattty's Day: Wicked Game - Creme Pure Color Nail Lacquer Limited Collection Nordstrom exclusive |
|
I shot a video for a freelance client the other day and realized I should probably swap my
denim-decorated digits for some subdued nail tone. Because the video was about makeup tips for older women afflicted with
Rosacea, I opted for
Essie Limo-scene, feeling very retro (2003), when sheer pinks were all the rage. Well, I've never felt older. For the half a week I sported such subtle, boring nails, I felt like I'd walked out of the house missing my favorite accessory--fun nail polish. Festive varnish has become the norm, no longer a special occasion item. Rocking boring nails was like skipping my jewelry, fun shoes and clutch on a night out. It reminded me of that pivotal scene in
The Banger Sisters when
Susan Sarandon (La la la la VINIA) says to
Goldie Hawn, "I want to go OUT! But everything I own is BEIGE."
So? I couldn't WAIT to cleanse my talon palette with a shipment of Estee Lauder's latest nail polishes for spring 2011. I chose the new Estee lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Purple Passion, a "I'm not messing around" purple. It's part of the new Pure Color Nail Lacquer by Estée Lauder and Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux. The new collection boasts eight in-line nail lacquers in painted shades of sophistication has a decadently full-coverage formula with a long lasting finish. An additional limited edition collection of eight high-fashion shades bring you that much-need party to your nails.Tom Pecheux recommends applying two coats of the polish followed by a very shiny, clear top coat. "The nails should look very shiny and glossy – like a contemporary Chinese lacquer," says Tom. Here, some of the shades in the collection.
Pure Color Nail Lacquer will be available at select Estee Lauder counters nationwide and at esteelauder.com for 0.3 oz / $19 in March 2011. The Limited Collection is exclusive to Nordstrom for a limited time.
