Wash Me Amadeus Week: Dermalogica Medibac Clearing Skin Wash

Oh hey, guys! Welcome to Wash Me Amadeus Week! Re: Dermalogica: I LURVE this stuff. If you're having mild-medium adult acne probs, this could save you a trip to the dermatologist. Dermalogica's Clearing Skin Wash is a non-irritating, naturally-foaming cleanser that provides around-the-clock control of breakouts and excess surface oils. It contains Salicylic Acid to slough off dead skin cells to clear clogged pores, helping to prevent future breakouts. Soothing, naturally-antiseptic extracts of Balm Mint, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Burdock and Camphor calm congested skin. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.

It's not quite so cheap at $47 for 16.9 oz, but you get your money's worth. Here's why. First, you need only use a pea-sized amount each time you wash. Be sure to keep it out of your eye area. In fact, I normally just scrub my eye makeup off with my face wash, but this one expressly recommends you refrain from doing that. So when I Dermalogica, I use a separate eye makeup remover. Lately, I'm loving Lancome Bi-Facil, $26. It's non-irritating for contact lens wearers and gently removes even waterproof mascara, no easy feat.

Anywho, Dermalogica is pretty economical as I find you only need to use it for a week here and there. Once my skin calms down (and it's been WAY less oily all around - this makes a GREAT summer skin wash), I return to using something designed for more balanced skin. More on those choices later. I'll use my regular wash for another 3-4 weeks or until my skin starts freaking out again and then will break out my interim prod, Dermalogica again. Also, as my friend Leah pointed out, it IS a bit drying. Make sure you have a good oil-free moisturizer on hand to combat dryness. But dryness, while annoying, is a small price to pay for clear skin. In conjunction with the Zeno, you can kiss zits buh-bye. Have you tried Dermalogica? What do you think? Hope you had a fab weekend, dolls! Mine was great, thank you. I went to two birthday parties, caught up with my old roommate Erin, and got a fantastic treatment and rinse/gloss at the Hiro Haraguchi Salon. More on that later.

Launch an All Out WAR on Acne with Zeno

Haven't you just had it with zits? Why are they still a part of my lifestyle? I'm 27 years old, for the love. I'm not ProActive Solution style cystic acne-ing... but I get one bad one a month and despite trying different face washes, moisturizers and treatments, nothing takes care of biz. Until I met the Zeno Pro Acne Clearing Device. Just a couple 2.5 minute treatments with this wonder tool and your pimple is kaput. Seriously. Instead of taking a week to heal, my cyclops-worthy forehead zit packed its bags within 24 hours and had vanished completely with no scarring by the end of 48 hours. The device uses heat to kill bacteria and shorten the life of your pimple (but don't expect it to erase them immediately). Also, it only works on mild to moderate acne, and the tip of the device needs to be replaced every 90 uses, increasing the already high price of (gasp) $185. I'll shell it out for clear skin. Comes in teal and pink. Best of all? It's rechargable eliminating the need for batteries. I've given Zeno a home next to my cell phone and iPod charging station on my dresser. It's that important.
