Pocket Full of Posie (Tint)

I am SO smitten kitten with Benefit's new twist on their cult-fave BeneTint, Posie Tint. I've mentioned Benetint approximately 29367 times on this blog because I absolutely adore it to the point where it has established permanent residency in my makeup bag and I've repurchased it no less than 4 times despite its tendency to stain everything I own including my passport. But can't we agree that sometimes Benetint is a lot of color?

I had the opportunity to try out Posie Tint and I can officially declare it the Benetint for the recessive-gened set. It's an opaque, gorgeous petal pink that swipes on and leaves you with a coy flush on cheeks and imparts a lit-from-within glow on lips. It's a very Mercedes-of-License-to-Drive-fame pink.

Just one word of advice: when you apply your three cheek dots make sure to blend IMMED or you'll be left with the dots ALL day and will look like some kind of rash victim. Just saying.

Originally slated to debut in June, it's now available for $28 on benefitcosmetics.com. So you can be all, "Posie Tint, get out of my dreams and into my CAR."

Oscar Beauty Demystified

Hey gals!

I just got word about the cosmetics behind the looks of three of my fave Oscar beauties.

Miley Cyrus wowed in a crimson gown and fresh makeup thanks to Dior International Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff. Said Dubroff of the look: "I was inspired by Miley's radiant
youth. It was all about glowing, gorgeous skin with flushed cheeks and a
popsicle-stained mouth. Then for the Oscar glam part-tons of black mascara
first and then blue mascara to top it off! The final touch was some 'fairy
dust' glitter-she's a Disney princess come to life!"

Presenter Keri Russell ("Waitress" and "August Rush") showed off her delicate beauty in a stunning neutral gown and makeup to match. Celebrity
Makeup Artist Mai Quynh
said she was inspired by Russell's "putty-colored
dress." Said Quynh: "I wanted the look to be ethereal and organic, like her dress and hair."

Lips: DiorKiss in Hazelnut Lychee

Laura Linney (nominated for her role in "The Savages") was as classy and sophisticated as ever thanks to Celebrity Makeup Artist Kristofer Buckle. "It's about simplistic, manicured beauty, very anti-trend," said Buckle of the look. "Laura is a strong, accomplished woman so I wanted the makeup to be all about her and enhancing her natural beauty."

Smooth Operator: BeneFit Bathina Sweet Satin Shaving Mousse

Smooth Operator Week concludes!

This preciously retro glam packaged large jar is meant for the bath, but is so adorable, you'll want to display it in the boudoir. Inside is a luxe chamomile-scented shaving mousse that provides a soothing, creamy shave for temptingly smooth skin. The periwinkle tinted cream is decadent and a little goes a long way to reduce red bumps. Now, I still take issue with the packaging. I hate that it comes in a jar. It doesn't lather, but works extremely well even without water for non-shower shavers and won't gunk up your razor. I recommend it as a treat for those with non-addictive personalities. For those who are privy to addictions - buy it for friends as a gift. They'll simultaneously adore you and curse you for getting them hooked on $26 (albeit for 12oz - that's a large jar) shaving cream.
