|Katharine (right), with Tess|
This scent was another instant Fictitious Fragrance Fan assignment for me. I took one whiff of the sample sent to me last week and was like KATHARINE PARKER, Tess' infamous boss in Working Girl played by Sigourney Weaver. #DONE.
Like Tess, Katharine ALSO has a head for business and a bod for sin. But her scent radiates sophistication and seriousnesses but most of all, beauty. It's slightly masculine, but wearable and infinitely spicy. A fine mist of the stuff is exactly what Katharine would walk into before heading out onto the slopes for her ski vacation. She quotes Chanel and she does not give credit where it's due, but no one can say girl isn't chic as all get out. Plus, she'd love to help you but... we can't busy the quarterback with passing out the Gatorade.
Marni's notes are bergamot, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, cardamom, pink pepper, rose, incense, vetiver, cedar and patchouli. The fashion house's debut fragrance launches this month, retailing at $105 for a 65-ml. bottle, or $155 for the 120-ml. size. There's also a scented body lotion, shower gel and body cream—but get involved with the $50 purse spray, which comes with a little fabric doll. You can call her your secretary and then take credit for all her work for a real Katharine effect. As we all know, a serious job requires serious hair-and a serious perfume. And you are, after all, you.
