Ready for your 2012 mascara fix? Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci's got the deets on Shu Uemura Ultimate Natural Mascara. Check it, in Ashleigh's words:
I love love love the brush on this mascara from the Japanese cult brand. While big rubbery brushes are fun and tiny comb-like brushes are workable, there's nothing like a good small spiraled firm brush. The inky formula went on super fluffy, giving me soft wispy lashes.
A second coat gave me a lot of thickness at the roots and delicately spiked tips. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't glam up my eye with a midday touch-up; the product was simply too dry.
However, this mascara has major staying power. I washed with soap and water AND used my regular eye makeup remover. It actually took a healthy dose of Shu's cleansing oil to get rid of all the residue. This is a plus and a minus! I'd recommend this to anyone who has long days that lead into long nights!
