Tom Ford’s first beauty collection is a 132-piece line includes everything POSSIBLE to look as glamorous as you could possibly look in your life. Like, the Platonic IDEAL of beauty, as only Tom Ford can help you achieve. You know?

Says Tom, “I don’t like B.S. and a lot of promises, and there are a lot of products out there you don’t even need,” said the designer. “My brain works in the same way whatever I do. The approach is practical, architectural and I use the same vocabulary whether I’m designing clothing or color cosmetics.” (WWD)

Expect silky lip glosses, high-pigment lipsticks, amazing nail polishes, gorgeously blendable eyeshadow palettes, elegant skincare, and much more. The full Tom Ford Beauty Collection will be available in November. Until then, I'll be in a full-on panic scheming ways to get my hands on it prior.

Vintage Compact Collection Status Update

Remember I told you last summer about how I bought two vintage compacts and a '50s British Vogue at an antique sale? Well, I've acquired a few more delightful items to add to my collection. Check it (right to left):

• A small circular compact purchased for me by the fabulous Keri Blair, Senior Makeup Artist for MAC Cosmetics

• A vintage bottle of Estee Lauder Youth Dew purchased on eBay

• A vintage 1950s Max Factor Lipstick case, containing one very ancient lipstick in red purchased on eBay

• A FABULOUS Richard Hudnut gold compact with a lipstick included in the hinge emblazoned with a royal CROWN. This one was a birthday gift from the very generous Sarah

• Another gift from Keri, a small pot of rouge called "Cheek Lure" from the brand Irresistible 

I keep them all on my very gay-man shelf in my bookcase.

"Absolutely Fabulous" Returns For Three Specials!

Sweetie darlings, after the hurricane being an epic fail, this is the best news I've heard in weeks.

"Absolutely Fabulous," the comedy of HILAR proportions is coming back in the form of three specials. The news comes before the show's (gasp) 20th anniversary--it debuted in 1992. I used to babysit for girl who was a NIGHTTERROR just because her family had Comedy Central--and mine didn't--in 1992. Moar Eddie and Patsy! Fun fact: One time my father (also an AbFab fan) called me from a client's office in suburban England with absolute DELIGHT that all the employees talked like BUBBLE. It was amazing.

Declaring herself "thrilled to be able to celebrate our 20th birthday with all of the original cast," Jennifer Saunders cracked, "We fully intend to party like it's 1991."

Fictionary: Scent Stunt Double

Fictionary is a column showcasing beauty-related words that don't exist, but should.

 For me, eau de high school is a single scent: Bath & Body Works Sparkling Pear. I used the shower gel, the body lotion, even the body splash (and even though I was a teen, I still considered body splashes to be slightly low-rent). It was the most divine, just-bitten pear essence. Not too sweet the way Victoria's Secret's iteration was. It was absolutely the aroma of ripe pears, sans saccharine. And once it was heartbreakingly discontinued (I'm still angry about this, BBW!) my friends and I would loot Rice's Market (a sort of Canal Street in Chinatown for suburban folk in Philly) for overstock bottles and hoard them like crazy wartime women. I distinctly remember getting irate at my brother for using up my last drop of my last hoarded bottle of shower gel TO SIT AROUND THE HOUSE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES when I was saving it FOR THE PROM. And like Dr. Martens, flannels, my infatuation with mysteriously quiet (read: stupid--I found out later) guys, brown lipstick and virtual violet everything, it died out completely. Happy Monday, friends! As you know, I'm a Barre-bie, i.e., a rabid fan of the barre method. And while I'm a Core Fusion devotee, I decided to test out a free sesh courtesy of my gal Dina at The Bar Method in Soho.  The first thing that struck me as I walked into the immaculate minimalist space? Today's Fictionary entry is actually a guest submission from the genius Mario Dedivanovic, makeup artist to the likes of the to-be-betrothed Kim Kardashian. And P to the S. this is his SECOND Fictionary entry--he also coined "new-d." He used the term "Glam Chop Lashes" in a recent interview with me for a mascara piece I'm writing for another site and I DIED. It's perfect. I used to be psyched to have the flu in elementary school (and maybeeeee even middle school) because it meant I could stay home and watch Lamb Chop's Play Along.
