Fictionary: Nail Trail

Fictionary is a column showcasing beauty-related words that don't exist, but should.

You know. Those annoying nail polish marks your allegedly DRIED (days ago, even!) varnish leaves in its wake on paper. Since I work in a paper-heavy office, I'm the repeat offender. Though I myself always think, oh, that wasn't me. And then I remember I the only one here who rocks teal polish.

One of my rules for returning to my former financial copyediting gig (albeit in a freelance capacity) was that I would be allowed to rock whatever nail accoutreMA (as Jack Rebney so sagely says) I like. One way to avoid this? CND's new polish/gel hybrid, Shellac.

Have you experienced Nail Trail? Am I the only one? SHARE, baby.

I too am a nail trail offender! But ladies....lets not forget about the nail trails on the plastic tray part of the copier where you pick up the paper!!! I've noticed these more and more on the copier in my office. I see these sad little lines and sigh to myself while muttering "hmfph, tipwear sucks"

Oh no! You don't work at Daily Makeover anymore?

  11. Anon--Nope! But that's definitely not a bad thing. It ended up being a totally different gig than I signed up for, thanks to several rounds of layoffs the company had. All's well that ends well--now I'm freelancing and loving it.
