My gal Denise alerted me to this historical beauty news (my favorite kind, actually) about eye liner in Egypt circa 4,000 years ago. Evidently, an Egyptian-era smokey eye warded off eye infections, thanks to lead salts in the makeup. Fascinating! The more you know.
