Sponsored Post: Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries Contest

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Leslie Blodgett, CEO and founder of Bare Escentuals is expanding her beauty empire into the fragrance space this fall with Leslie Blodgett Perfume Diaries. The Perfume Diaries is a series of fragrances inspired by Leslie’s travels around the world. The first scent is Bare Skin, created to evoke memories of being on the beach in Mexico and inspired by Leslie's journal entries from that trip.

To help spread the word about the new fragrances, Sephora has created a contest that invites women everywhere to create their own digital “perfume diaries.” Contest entries can consist of words, images or both--as long as they express a memory of favorite vacation “sensory” moments. Additional information is available via facebook.com/LeslieBlodgettPerfumeDiaries.

Here are the contest prize details:
Grand Prize (1) grand prize winner and a guest will receive a luxurious vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii for 5 nights/6 days and a gift basket of Leslie's Bare Skin collection (approx. $2000 value)
Second Place (3) second place winners will receive a gift basket of Leslie's Bare Skin Collection (over $100 value/each)

My own perfume diary is this: In the summer of 1996, I went to France for the first time on a high school trip. It ignited my inner francophile (which was always there, but naturally lay dormant until I WENT to France). My favorite part of the trip was when we went to Monaco. I got off the bus in Monte Carlo and thought to myself, this is it. This is where I belong. Royalty, g(l)ambling and glamour. I was glamazed. We journeyed to Eze to tour a perfume factory called Fragonard. That particular event cemented my obsession with all things beauty AND French.
And the riviera istself: The scent was intoxicating in a non-trite way--in fact, the only thing I can compare the entire feeling of the place was to being in love. I've never been to another geographical location that instantly elevated my seratonin levels. I haven't been back since that summer, unfortunately, but it's on my list of places to revisit as soon as humanly possible.

We don't know each other..but there must have been a lot of school trips to Monaco and Eze and the same perfume factory...in 1996. I went there too! Small world. Anyway I didn't fall in love with perfume, but I did travel and Europe. Good post! (p.s. do you have South Alabama ties? Just curious)

Hey Courtney!

That's too funny! Didn't you ADORE Fragonard? I don't have South Alabama ties, but I swear I'm southern on the inside (though I was born above the M-D line in Philly!)

Oops sorry for the double comment. But yes the factory was awesome. Love the blog!
