Tweet In a world where SO MANY things are disappointing, I am thrilled to report that I love David Babaii for WildAid Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner just as much as I'd hoped I would.
Longtime readers know about my girl crush on Kate Hudson, and how phenom I find her hair, her makeup, and her general lifestyle (I'm loving the Lance Armstrong arm candy of late, Kate!). I'm currently abstaining from shampoos and conditioners with sulfates since re-instituting my highlights as of April, so I was all the more excited about the products Kate and David created - they're free of sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals and animal products.
Michelle from All Lacquered Up actually inspired me to go sulfate-free. You may not know this, but her hair is GORGE and she is just as well-versed in hair products as she is in nail polish. Anyway, she told me she won't let a sulfate NEAR her strands (it fades color) and if you see her hair, it's in fantastic condition - rich color, thick, shiny, and full. I've been heeding her advice and I've seen a difference just in the last couple of months.
Anyway, that was a Sophia Petrillo-esque tangent, n'est-ce pas? My hair is seriously dry, seriously color-treated, and seriously abused by heat tools. I require deeply hydrating shampoos and conditioners. The shampoo feels luxe and looks it, too: it boasts a white pearlescent, easily foaming formula. The conditioner is even more remarkable. You know when you're trying out a new conditioner and you KNOW the results are going to be gorge while it's still soaking in your hair? It's that kind of party, friends. The thick, emollient formula feels like a dream on your locks. I left it on for about five minutes before rinsing it out and it left my hair utterly tangle-free, combable and silky. I have to disclose that I'm in desperate need of a haircut (you're probably sick of my saying that, but it's true - I have one scheduled for July 15), but when I blew out my hair, my split ends were totally invisible to the naked eye. My hair is shiny, silky, and smooth. Weirdly enough, my usual case of daily hilarious bedhead has even been quelled after using this shampoo conditioner combo. Feel like a virtous maiden with fab hair because the bottles are made with recycled materials. A veritable drink for thirsty hair, it incorporates rich cupuacu butter, wild orchid and blue algae extract. Its coconut fragrance is divine and elicits visions of beach-dwelling.
Best of all? It's pretty affordable: $14 for the shampoo, $15 for the conditioner.
